We visited Chapman School in Portland and watched thousands of Swifts return to a huge chimney to
roost until they migrate south. They don't perch (feet have velcro-like barbs). It takes about an hour
for them to gather and just a couple of minutes to finally go down the chimney. It's a great reason to
take a picnic, a blanket, and some friends to the city. Thanks!
